WELCOME TO THE IRIS GARDEN The Iris Garden was established in 1998 and these last 12 years we have opened the gardens and served Devonshire teas to many groups and private individuals and sent many parcels of iris rhizomes to iris lovers all over New Zealand. We no longer supply mail order iris but have a great selection of potted iris in a wide colour range for sale at the nursery. Dwarf, intermediate and tall bearded iris, Ron Busch's Irwell iris with Arilbreds and some Heritage iris. These are healthy well grown plants and will flourish in a sunny spot providing a glorious burst of colour. We are delighted to offer The Iris Garden as a wedding venue. Ideal for cocktail weddings outdoors in the gardens or smaller functions in the old cottage. A large area suitable for a marquee is available for hire, enquiries welcome. June MacLeods delicate iris watercolour prints and greeting cards will be available again this season, they make lovely gifts. Enjoy a delicious Devonshire tea sitting under the cherry tree or in the old cottage. The summerhouse seats six and can be reserved. Group bookings taken and casual tables available weekends. The Iris Garden will open on Sunday 2nd October 2011 with an attractive garden display of standard dwarf bearded iris. Late October is the time for Intermediate iris with November being the time for the magnificent tall bearded iris. Admire the gardens, ponds and goldfish. Open daily hours 10am – 5pm.
