WELCOME TO THE IRIS GARDEN
After a very wet and cold winter the iris are now showing good increase. It's going to be a great bloom season. We have planted another huge area with cantabrian Ron Busch's Irwell Iris. Many of these will have their first flowering here. How exciting to see a beautiful creation no-one has ever seen before. I could get interested in hyrbridising.
The excellent new photographs in this catalogue have been taken by Lynda Harper of Banks Peninsula. Lynda teaches photography and is available for quality wedding photographs. See advertisement page thank you Lynda. June MacLeod's delicate iris watercolours, prints and greeting cards will be available again this season. These are very popular.
We have a large potted collection for sale at the nursery. Dwarf, Intermediate and tall bearded iris in a range of colours. Potted Louisiana iris which like rich conditions and wet feet. Pacific Coast iris with their dainty flowers prefer filtered sunlight and slightly acidic conditions. Potted Japanese iris and some of the new introductory Cal-Sib iris.
A very special thank you to the staff of the iris garden and the Victorian Tearooms, Joan Liz and Jeff. I appreciate your support and loyalty.
Many varieties new to the iris garden will be available this season so get your order in early and remember your postcode and email address.
The Iris Garden will open on Sunday 10th October 2010 with and attractive garden display of standar dwarf bearded iris. Late October is the time for Intermediate iris and Arilbred iris. View the magnificent Tall Bearded iris in November.
Open daily hours 10am – 5pm. Orders will be posted January through February. Spend a day in the country admiring the Iris.
Look forward to meeting you.
Julie
